Geophysics Course

AVO & Simultaneous Inversion for Seismic Reservoir Characterization

This course aims to provide participants with a thorough understanding of Amplitude Versus Offset (AVO) analysis and simultaneous inversion techniques as powerful tools in seismic reservoir characterization. Participants will explore the theoretical foundation and practical applications of AVO, including its ability to identify fluid and lithology changes in the subsurface. The program will also delve into the methodology of simultaneous inversion, which integrates seismic reflection data and well log information to derive robust elastic property models such as P-impedance, S-impedance, and density volumes. By the end of the training, participants will be equipped to assess reservoir quality, fluid content, and geobody distribution with greater confidence. Real case studies and hands-on exercises will enhance their ability to interpret inversion results and integrate them into exploration and development strategies. This course is ideal for geophysicists, geologists, and reservoir engineers aiming to reduce uncertainty in reservoir evaluation.
