(KALIMANTAN) Petroleum Geology of Tarakan Basin Field Trip, Tarakan, North Kalimantan
The Tarakan Basin, North Kalimantan, Indonesia is one of the major sedimentary sediments of oil and gas producers on the island of Borneo, with mining history spanning until 1897. All oil in the region comes from the Tarakan Formation, with shallow depths. This fieldtrip invites the participants to visit key locations to study the Tarakan Formation rocks that are key elements of the growing oil and gas system. Audience will be also guided to local tourism destinations in Tarakan.
