(KALIMANTAN) Petroleum Geology of Kutai Basin, Mahakam Delta, East Kalimantan
The Kutai Basin, East Kalimantan, Indonesia, is formed by the sedimentation process of the Mahakam Delta for tens of millions of years, even remains active to this day. In this field trip, the participants will be invited to understand the ultimate idiom in modern geology, namely "present is the key to the past". We'll also learn the process that happen today in the Mahakam Delta to understand how the Kutai Basin was formed. The audience will be also guided to local tourism destinations in Samarinda.
