(KALIMANTAN) Petroleum Geology of Barito Basin Field Trip, Meratus Transect, South Kalimantan
Barito Basin, South Kalimantan is one of the main sedimentary basins of oil and gas producers in Borneo Island, Indonesia with the first drilling conducted in 1898. This region is the location of Meratus Mountain, a prehistoric mountain chain that is valuable for understanding Indonesian Geology. This field trip invites the participants to visit key locations to learn the rocks of the Meratus Mountains and the key elements of the Barito Basin oil and gas system. The audience will be also guided to local tourism destinations in Martapura.
