Dalam kegiatan field trip ini, peserta akan diajak memahami konsep penting dalam geologi modern, yaitu \u201cmasa kini adalah kunci untuk memahami masa lalu\u201d. Peserta juga akan mempelajari proses-proses yang terjadi saat ini di Delta Mahakam untuk memahami bagaimana Cekungan Kutai terbentuk.
